Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 23, 2026
Overview
Lett ("we", "our", "us") is a free ambient sound application available at lett.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.
The short version: we do not collect personal data, we do not use tracking cookies, and we do not require you to create an account.
Information We Do Not Collect
Lett does not collect, store, or process any of the following:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Usage behavior or browsing history
- Device fingerprints
- Payment or financial information
Local Storage
Lett stores your sound preferences, custom presets, and app settings using your browser's local storage. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not transmitted to our servers
- Is not accessible to us or any third party
- Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data
Cookies
Beyond essential technical cookies required by our hosting infrastructure, the only non-essential cookies we may use are Google Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage (such as total page views). We do not use advertising cookies.
If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default and are only set if you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. You can decline with "Reject" and the site works exactly the same.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled on the site, we use Google Analytics with Google Consent Mode to understand aggregate usage patterns. Where consent is required, no analytics cookies are set until you grant it. No personally identifiable information is intentionally collected through analytics, and you can additionally block analytics with any standard ad blocker or browser privacy settings.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the use of analytics and measurement cookies may be considered "sharing" of personal information. California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information.
You can opt out at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link, which also appears in the footer of every page.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it as a valid opt-out request.
Third-Party Services
Lett's core functionality runs entirely in your browser. Audio files are served from our hosting provider. We do not integrate with third-party advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers.
Our blog content is generated and served from our own infrastructure. Blog images are hosted on our own storage services.
Children's Privacy
Lett does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, there is no risk of children's data being captured or processed.
Data Security
All connections to Lett are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no user data at risk of breach.
Your Rights
Since Lett does not collect personal data, there is no personal information to access, modify, or delete. Your locally stored preferences can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
